PIANO AS ART

"She stands more than five feet tall, her body a piano's well-worn wooden pin block, with three brass piano pedals for feet. Twisting piano wires wound with copper flail like hair being whipped by a storm, framing a face that once attached a piano leg to its case. A tuning pin hangs like an amulet from what might be considered her neck. She is "Our Lady of Piano Parts", and she is one of 37 works in "Piano As Art", an exhibition of sculptural and mixed media pieces inspired by and mostly composed of old piano parts; the first collaborative body of work by Penny Putnam and Shauna Holiman."
